In British Columbia, probate fees are calculated based on the value of the deceased’s estate at the time of death. The fees are as follows:

1. No fee for estates valued at $25,000 or less.
2. For estates between $25,000 and $50,000, the fee is $6 per $1,000 of the estate’s value.
3. For estates over $50,000, you pay $14 per $1,000 on the portion exceeding $50,000.
