Harneel Hundal

Background

Harneel is an associate at Jiwa Law Corporation where she practices primarily criminal law. She joined Jiwa Law Corporation in 2021 after working as an associate at one of Canada’s leading criminal defence firms in downtown Vancouver. Harneel has represented clients at both the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia as well as before the Parole Board of Canada.

She obtained her Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2019. During law school, Harneel volunteered with the Criminal Law Project, where she assisted low-income individuals with access to justice and agency in court. Additionally, she has experience helping youth with extra-judicial measures through the restorative justice program.

Harneel is a regular contributor to the Access Pro Bono Society of British Columbia, where she provides low-income individuals with legal advice for their criminal matters. She is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and Criminal Defence Advocacy Society.

During her spare time, Harneel enjoys spending time with her family, playing competitive soccer and hiking various trails throughout British Columbia.
