Slip And Fall

If you have been injured as a result of a dog bite, you may be entitled to compensation from the owner of the dog. Typically, owners of dogs have a home insurance policy that provides coverage to the owner in the event of a dog bite injury even if the dog bite occurs outside of the owners premises.

Dangerous Product

This area of law is often referred to products liability law. Every year, defective or dangerous products are responsible for causing serious injuries and deaths to the people who use them. Manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers, distributors, parts suppliers, and anyone else in the chain of distribution can be held liable when a dangerous product causes injuries. A dangerous product can be found defective in three ways: Defective designDefective manufacturing, and Defective marketing.

Wrongful Death Attorney

A wrongful death can result from a car accident, dangerous product, assault, a dangerous premises. Compensation for wrongful deaths in British Columbia is governed by the Family Compensation Act: If the death of a person is caused by wrongful act, neglect or default, and the act, neglect or default is such as would, if death had not resulted, have entitled the party injured to maintain an action and recover damages for it, any person, partnership or corporation which would have been liable if death had not resulted is liable in an action for damages, despite the death of the person injured, and although the death has been caused under circumstances that amount in law to an indictable offence. s. 2. The action must be for the benefit of the spouse, parent or child of the person whose death has been caused, and must be brought by and in the name of the personal representative of the deceased. s. 3(1).
